Separated Cycle Lanes on the Drawing Board in Christchurch!

Last August the ChCh City Council put out a proposed plan to revamp Ilam Road near the University to improve provision for cycling and walking. Responding to concerns from the University of Canterbury and Spokes Canterbury, a new option has been proposed that includes among other enhancements, separated bikeways (behind parked cars on one side with a wide hatched area on the other). Perhaps the separated bike lane ball is starting to roll in New Zealand!
